Why Do I Need At Least 512MB of RAM?
The minimum requirement of 512MB of RAM refers to a physical memory requirement, not available hard-drive disc space to save files to. Physical memory is used to load computer programs and services into a memory area to allow quicker computing access and results. The space is limited to the amount of physical RAM installed on a machine. The available RAM is used by all programs, processes, and hardware drivers. Therefore, available RAM can quickly decline as more and more programs are running at the same time. Typically, new computers come with a minimum of 2 to 3 gigabytes (GB) of RAM to allow multiple programs, animation, and Internet streaming to occur.
Although Fast Connect is a unique program, it is designed specifically to run and interact with the security programs, features, and services available from within its dashboard. Each of these programs and services also has a physical memory requirement, and in some cases, for example, anti-virus software, the memory requirements are significant. In other words, you may have an appropriate about of physical RAM for one program to run efficiently; but, the overall memory requirements to run multiple programs effectively at the same time does not exist. This is why we require a minimum of 512 MB of RAM to install Fast Connect.
